ITZY ignites Melbourne fans with their ‘Tunnel Vision’ world tour
ITZY kicked off the ‘Tunnel Vision‘ world tour in Melbourne at the John Cain Arena on April 17th, where their group showcased their confidence and power that felt effortless and well-crafted throughout the night. Their stage was like no other, with a triangular setup and appropriate lighting to enhance their performance.
They launched the concert with a string of powerful songs like ‘Tunnel Vision‘ and ‘Girls Will Be Girls‘, which helped set the tone for the rest of the night. They wore beautiful black, sparkly outfits that contrasted nicely with the red lighting. Their dance moves were sharp and were filled with power, just like their tracks. Their live vocals were stunning and really echoed throughout the arena. The group then came through with some of their viral hits, like ‘Wannabe‘ and ‘Imaginary Friend‘, where the energy exploded among the fans, who were screaming and chanting along with the tracks.
One of the most exciting parts of the concerts was seeing their individual colours in their solo sections. Lia started with her beautiful vocals on ‘Asylum‘, followed by Yuna‘s ‘Tangerine‘, where her charms and cuteness came through clearly. Yeji brought a fun stage for ‘Pocket‘ where her confidence came through evidently. Chaeryeong‘s ‘Undefined‘ showed off her sexy dance choreography, where her cheekiness and fun side were captivating to watch, with the surprising blue confetti coming through to the crowd at the end of her performance. Finally, Ryujin finished off the solo track with ‘Look‘, where we got to witness more of her vocals that contrasted well with her strong rapping ability. Overall, the solo stages were a great highlight of the show.
After their solo stages, they highlighted many of their older tracks, including ‘Wild Wild West‘, ‘In The Morning’, and ‘That’s A No No‘. We got to see many props on stage that helped elevate the essence of the track while amplifying their group performance. Their synchronisation was precise and captivating, making every move look easy. The energy was also high, where they knew how to get fans on their feet, dancing and singing along. They also performed ‘Not Shy‘ and ‘Loco‘, where visually it was bold with distinct lighting for each stage. It made the stage impactful, matching the group’s energy.
While the members were getting ready for the Encore section, there was the MIDZY challenge, where different fans were caught on camera dancing to many of ITZY‘s title tracks. It was clear that every fan loved ITZY and their music, which was shown in the enthusiasm for the dance and knowing the moves. The crowd was just as energetic, which motivated more powerful moves from fans.
Finally, to end the night, the members came out wearing the merch that was on sale. They ended the night with ‘Mirror‘, ‘Five‘, ‘Sneakers‘, ‘Cake‘, and ‘Dalla Dalla‘. For these stages, the members took more time focusing on their fans, bringing fan service and love to those who were there. It was clear as day that they were having an amazing time on stage, seeing the fans and singing their songs. Melbourne had the privilege of having the concert on Ryujin‘s birthday, where the production surprised her with a cake and multiple props. The crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to her with the loudest chants, where she shared one of her wishes, hoping that the members would forever be healthy.
Overall, it was a night to remember for a long time for MIDZYs. Thank you, ITZY, for coming and giving us the best concert of our lives. We would like to extend our thanks to JYP Entertainment and Live Nation for allowing us the opportunity to cover this event.
