To celebrate Eric Nam’s tour to Australia, let’s look at some of our favourite Eric Nam songs
Eric Nam is about to hit Australia, so before he gets here, we thought we’d share some of our favourite Eric Nam songs.
Live Nation will be bringing Eric to Australia for a series of shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in March 2019.
The shows on this tour are:
Brisbane on Friday, 8 March at The Triffid
Sydney on Sunday, 10 March at the Metro Theatre
Melbourne on Monday, 11 March at 170 Russell
Now, let’s get to the music!
We don’t know if any, or all, of these songs will be on the set list, but we hope so. They’re in no particular order, we love them all!
‘Honestly‘ is the title track of Eric’s comeback album ‘Honestly’ in April last year.
The song put Eric‘s vocals over the top of an acoustic guitar and synth backing, it gives the track a western pop feel while bringing in the much-favoured tropical house feel. The track opens with a subdued version of the chorus before building into a slow-burn verse that features a repeated guitar riff that brings life and movement to the song before incorporating percussion to the mix.
Eric‘s vocal is retrained and emotional which only serves to highlight the heartfelt feelings of the song. It’s a true showcase of his ability to adapt his vocal style to a range of styles and genres.
Eric Nam ‘Honestly’
‘Potion’ was a pre-release track from Eric Nam‘s album ‘Honestly‘. The song featured rapper Woodie Gochild and was co-written by Epik High‘s Tablo.
This track is best described as an upbeat techno-pop track that has a distinctive Spanish flair. The melody is addictive and is based on an acoustic backing track that is defined by the electronic lifts that drop straight into the chorus.
‘Potion‘ is definitely a party song that features lyrics that tell everyone to ‘be young and wild’ and ‘pour up the potion’.

‘Float‘ was featured on the soundtrack for the animated move ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation‘. It’s a breezy electro-pop track, with a melody that thrives on airy synths meeting with smooth rock percussion and strings, the rhythmic, bouncy style of the track is propelled by Nam’s sweet voice as he sings about wanting to “float away with you.”

‘Cave Me In’ was released in January 2017 and is a smooth, atmospheric R&B track. The collaboration between Gallant, Tablo and Eric was a stroke of genius, that made the most of their voices to create a song that Tablo described as the “perfect before-and-after-the-club-Uber-ride anthem“.
The straightforward beat of the song sits underneath an airy blend of synths and the beautiful layering of the background vocals that give the song the hazy, laid back ambience. Eric’s vocals are perfectly matched with the bare, layered arrangement of the song.
Gallant x Tablo x Eric Nam ‘Cave Me In’
‘Can’t Help Myself‘ featuring Loco was one of the brightest releases of 2016.
It was a bouncy, bright, happy song that paired Eric’s sweet vocal with a falsetto driven chorus that is marked by a punctuation of synths. The guitar focused verses keep the song moving along at a nice pace.
The song still sounds as good today as it did when it was first released.
