Seven special moments from HallyuPopFest Sydney ’22 Day 1 to remember!
HallyuPopFest Sydney ’22 held it’s inaugural event in Sydney at the Qudos Bank Arena over the weekend of August 13 and 14. And what a welcome to Australia it was for the team behind the event!
The weather forecast for the weekend had been predicting rainy days, but just in time for the event, the weather cleared up. Being the first time this event has been held in Australia, there were some minor issues, however, the good far outweighed the bad, making it an event to remember.
There were many memorable moments on both days, so we will be highlighting our favourite seven special moments from HallyuPopFest Day 1 on August 13th.

1. Hi-Wave Experience
HallyuPopFest Sydney ’22 was an all-day event that has many special events throughout the day. One of the perks is the Hi-Wave Experience that allowed the VIP fans a chance to meet two artists of the day. This is a spin-off of Hi-Touch, where during pre-COVID times, fans were allowed to hi-five the artists. In order to keep everyone safe, Hi-Wave has been adapted and still ensures that fans are given a personal experience with their favourite artists. Instead of a hi-five, this opportunity gave fans the moment to wave at the members. During these moments, fans would show love for the members by verbal expressions and small gestures. These small interactions with the artists really made the moment quite special for the fans.
2. Red Carpet Opportunity
Another special event held for the fans at HallyuPopFest Sydney ’22 was the Red Carpet opportunity. This opportunity gave each artist the opportunity to meet the fans and answer fan questions. The artists made their entrance onto the red carpet and posed for fans so that they could take amazing photos, all while giving cute gestures to each side. The hosts did a fantastic job in making the artist feel comfortable on stage while getting to know more about them. They also asked many interesting questions that were written by the fans and the artists gave very meaningful answers to those questions. It was a great way to interact with the artist and be able to have a comfortable moment between the artists and the fans.
3. Opening Act By P1Harmony
After all the special events that were held throughout the day, it was finally time for the concert experience to begin. To get fans excited, intense and captivating animations were played on the big screen, which was enhanced by the music and the lighting effects. It built up the excitement and hyped the crowd ready for the appearance of their favourite artist. Then, we’re off, the music blasted and the opening act P1Harmony appeared. They entered the stage with such charisma and took everyone’s breath away with their perfect opening song ‘Black Hole‘.
They brought their energy and charisma to their performance, bringing unique and fun dance breaks that engaged the audience. The members also did a fantastic job with interacting with the fans as much as possible. The group also tried out the Aussie chant and soon had the Aussie fans screaming. Finally, they did their best to get the fans involved with their performance by encouraging fans to do their ‘Doom Du Doom‘ TikTok dance challenge and doing the bend and high jump during their energetic track. It was a great opening to the rest of the concert experience.
4. Everglow’s Energy
The next act to appear on stage was Everglow. Every track that they performed had the fans chanting along with them. It was full of energy in the room and the members pouredtheir all into each and every song they performed. The members also threw in lots of aegyo and fan service that had fans erupting with cheers. They certainly knew how to engage the audience while maintaining their high quality performance. Despite missing two members, they did an incredible job in covering all the sections and giving fans a full performance. It was one of our favourite moments of the evening.
5. Chungha’s Love For The Fans
Everything that Chungha did during the concert really touched everyone’s hearts. Her performance was top-notch (as always) as she brought her cute and sexy dances to the stage. The times where she got to relax and enjoy her time with the fans were the special moments that we’ll all remember. She has a beautiful heart and it really touched us all.
At one point, she was talking about how she promised that she was going to meet one of her fans that she had a video call with, but she wasn’t able to find her. However, with the help of the crowd, she was able to find the fan and expressed her love for the fan – that really got us emotional! She even spread love to everyone across the concert venue. She made sure that she included everyone in the room, especially when it came to the ending section where she wanted to take photos with the fans. She made sure to take as many photos as she could at every angle in order to get as many fans in her photos as possible. She definitely has a heart of gold!
6. SF9’s Sexy Nature
Despite the concert reaching the final acts, the energy did not fall, especially when SF9 came on stage. They brought all the charisma and charms that they are so well known for to the stage, allowing us to see both their cute and sexy nature.
They knew what to do and how to move to ensure that they captured all the fans’ hearts. When it came to their sexier songs, their moves definitely had us all swooning! The outfits they wore onstage also helped to bring out their sexy and masculine nature.
Other captivating moments included them taking the time to interact with their fans. They made sure to acknowledge the fans that were there, capturing each fan with their charms and cute gestures. Overall, they really knew how to bring out the energy in the room and create even more SF9 stans in the process!
7. Chen’s Tender Vocals
Chen was the final act for the first night and his smooth and tender vocals ensured that everyone was left speechless with their beauty. Throughout his performance, we were all left in awe by how beautiful his voice is and how he makes us feel the emotion of his songs. It is clear that he puts all his emotions into every note and it can be felt by the fans. He chose songs that allowed him to be immersed in his music as he closed his eyes and sing with so much intensity. His set list included songs like ‘Shall We?‘, ‘My Dear‘, ‘Beautiful Goodbye‘ and ‘Love Words‘.
He ended the night with his OST tracks, ‘Best Luck‘ and ‘Everytime‘. During these moments, he walked across the stage to interact with the fans and show love to them. We also got to see him enjoying the moment and loving his time on stage. It was a great finale song to end the night.
