Kim Hyun Joong asks ‘Why’ in comeback MV
Kim Hyun Joong has made a comeback with his first full solo album in four years. The album is titled ‘New Way‘ and the title track is ‘Why‘.
The title track ‘Why‘ may be a surprise for a lot of people, as it is not the style that we are used to hearing from Kim Hyun Joong, but, having said that, it is a stunning, ethereal song.
It is a romantic ballad, that is evocative in style of Roy Kim and John Park. The song rises and falls on the strength of his vocals and he doesn’t disappoint, it’s beautiful. You can feel the loneliness and the longing dripping from the stripped back arrangement.
The accompanying music video was filmed in a wintry, moody Paris and fits so perfectly with the song, it’s hard to imagine that anything else would have worked.
Kim Hyun Joong ‘Why’
The talented performer has also set up a solo label for his singing activities.
His label KEYEAST commented; “Kim Hyun Joong recently founded his new solo label Henecia. Henecia will take care of his singer activities such as his music and performances. They are not part of KEYEAST but a separate label. His label with KEYEAST will not change. His singer activities will be singer activities, and his actor activities will be his actor activities.“
The album release was followed by ‘2019 Kim Hyun Joong Concert New Way‘ on February 9 and 10 in Seoul.
