Kingdom has you in “Dystopia” with their new MV

“A child born as a son of a king goes to refuge after seeing his kingdom destroyed. Accross the wide blue ocean he sees people getting oppressed by the monsters.”

In the new MV by Kingdom called ‘Dystopia’ this is the tag line at the beginning of the MV, along with stunning artwork to start this moving tale. This really does draw you in to the story they are trying to portray.

Let’s have a look at the MV together!

Kingdom ‘Dystopia’ MV

From the oriental style opening backing track, Kimono and atmospheric backdrop it feels like you are being taken on a journey with Kingdom from the very beginning of this MV. We immediately feel as if we are being called to join with them in the fight for this ‘Dystopia‘.

The choreography depicts the urgency in their movements and impacts the strong vocals to support this beautiful story. Throughout the song you can also see that they are trying to break through from all the fighting and hurt to find peace and light at the end of it all.

Surrounded by cherry blossoms it also is symbolic of the current cherry blossom season in Japan. Almost as if they are trying to harness the beauty of this season to save you from the monsters. I really love how they not only have impactful lyrics but its almost as though you are interpreting a book in visual form. As depicted by Kingdom on the MV, this really is the Kingdom of Cherry Blossom.
