NCT Dream go ‘BOOM’ in their comeback MV

NCT Dream have made their comeback with their third mini-album ‘We Boom‘ and the title track ‘BOOM‘.

Luckily for us all, the song ‘BOOM‘ and the visuals are completely in keeping with the standard set by all the other NCT releases we have seen over the past 12months.

This song marks the group’s first formal release since former member Mark graduated out of the unit. Although we definitely miss his trademark vocal and style, this song somehow signals a coming of age for the group. This release is much sleeker and more mature than we are used to hearing from the ‘Dreamies’.

The dark, synth-driven song offers up a shift in style for the group, who in the past have tended to rely on bubblegum melodies such as those on ‘Chewing Gum’ and ‘We Young’.

The accompanying clip gives us a chance to watch the charismatic members perform the punchy rap lines before landing into the melodic and catchy chorus. The choreography is equally powerful and enthralling.

Since the release of ‘We Boom‘ and the title track ‘Boom‘, it has since gone on to top the iTunes albums charts in 21 countries, including Sweden, Finland, Greece, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Panama, Peru, India, Indonesia, Turkey, Mongolia, Philippines, Brunei, Qatar, and Belarus.
