STAYC Bring Summer Vibes to a Chilly Sydney Night

By  |

Despite the winter chill in Sydney, STAYC whisked fans away to a warm and cozy setting during their recent concert, with a dazzling display of pop perfection and radiant energy that warmed every heart in the venue. From the opening beats to the final encore, the six-member girl group proved why their slogan — “STAYC girls, it’s going down!” — is more than just a catchphrase; it’s a promise.

The night began with the vibrant “Bebe” and “1 Thing,” instantly setting the tone for a feel-good celebration of music and youth. “Poppy (Korean Version)” followed, its quirky, kitschy mood and irresistible chorus drawing cheers from fans who sang along in sync. The energy was high and stayed that way through their rendition of “Pipe Down”.

By the time “Beautiful Monster” and “Cheeky Icy Thing” hit, the crowd was fully immersed. The group took a break to chat with fans, using a translator but also bravely throwing in bits of English. They laughed about how “everything in Australia is so big,” with ISA noting the oversized roses she hoped to wear in her hair.

Special stages showcased the girls’ individual talents: Sieun, Seeun, and J delivered an emotional “Find,” ISA charmed with “Roses,” and Sumin and Yoon brought fierce energy to “Fakin’“. Acapella snippets of “Young Luv” revealed their vocal prowess and cemented the crowd’s admiration.

The main set continued with fan favourites like “DIAMOND,” “Beauty Bomb,” “STEREOTYPE,” and “Bubble,” where bubble guns added a playful sparkle to the moment. “Trouble Maker” had everyone singing along, with STAYC guiding the audience through the outro in a feel-good communal moment.

One highlight was a nostalgic video of the members describing themselves as children, which led into a sincere discussion about their “Teen Fresh” identity. As they reflected on growing into adulthood while still embodying the essence of Star To A Young Culture, it created a poignant transition into “Twenty,” and the cyber-tinged “GPT,” where they taught fans the key choreography on the spot.

The concert raced towards its climax with high-energy performances of “RUN2U” and “ASAP,” the latter featuring a hilarious prank on Sumin, who danced across the stage solo while her members froze in place — a moment that had fans and the group in fits of laughter. “Teddy Bear” and “SO BAD” rounded out the main set, with the girls teasing their upcoming July 23 comeback titled “I Want It” — cheekily repeating the title without giving anything away.

After a lively intermission featuring a crowd cam showcasing fans dancing in the aisles, the encore opened with “Gummy Bear,” during which STAYC surprised fans by walking through the audience, offering unforgettable up-close memories. They closed with a special treat just for Australia — a cover of Sia’s “Cheap Thrills,” followed by the heartwarming “Stay WITH me.”

As the lights dimmed and the group posed for a final photo with the crowd, one thing was certain: STAYC didn’t just bring a concert — they delivered a vibrant, immersive experience that left Sydney glowing long after the final note.

STAYC was presented in Australia by Live Nation and High Up Entertainment. Fuzion Fire Media would like to extend our thanks to them both (and STAYC) for allowing us to cover the show. We look forward to the group’s return visit.
